Colorado Mountain College going strong

Things are booming at the Colorado Mountain College Alpine Campus in Steamboat Springs.

In 2011, the college introduced a four-year bachelor’s degree program, with enrollment in its baccalaureate program increasing each year since and a 148 percent increase in enrollments last year alone. In May 2013, the college celebrated its inaugural class of graduates with bachelor’s degrees. Fifty-one students were part of that historic class and were entered into the college’s Alumni Hall of Fame.

In 2012, it opened its new $18 million, 60,000-square-foot academic and student center overlooking downtown. The building includes housing administrative offices, classrooms, an auditorium, cafeteria and more. It 2013, it finished building a secondary access road to the college as a final piece of the construction. Combine this with new course offerings in everything from resort management and hospitality to sustainability studies and culinary programs, and it’s truly becoming a cornerstone of the community.
